Ron Jelich Profile
Ron, 46, grew up in Gordonvale. A father of three, today you can find Ron living and working on the beautiful peninsula of Redcliffe; just 45 minutes north of Brisbane, Queensland.
Ron’s passions are to live life to the full, spend time with his three sons ("The most important people in my life") and achieve everything he sets his mind to...like putting his everyday life aside for two months to walk the same distance as from Rome (Italy) through Austria to Hamburg (Germany)!
He is also passionate about encouraging and supporting people in pursuing their passions and doing well.
His commitment to giving back to society expresses itself in many ways, not least as a Director of the Redcliffe Hospital Foundation. Ron is the Director of Sponsorships & Major Fundraising – and naturally the walk from Cairns to Redcliffe was his idea!!
Recognised in his local community, Ron won the Redcliffe Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year award in 2000. He has had a long career in Financial Planning, and currently works as National Development Manager of Storm Financial, and also Managing Director of one of Storm’s subsidiaries in Redcliffe.
Ron often combines his passion for sports – particularly golf, cricket and rugby league – with his passion for travel. A trip to South Africa for the Cricket World Cup provides the added bonus of a deep personal satisfaction in seeing some of his friends excelling out on the field as part of the Australian team.
Ron loves a social occasion, from Melbourne Cup through to a weekend down the coast with some friends. He also spends a lot of time buried in books – always with thought provoking and potentially life changing content, and especially biographies and autobiographies of successful people he admires. One of his prized possessions is a personally autographed copy of Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, ‘The Long Walk to Freedom.’
