School Based Trainees
Since April 2006 the Redcliffe Hospital Foundation has been funding students from local schools to participate in school based traineeships.
The students attend a minimum of one day a week and work with a designated supervisor in order to complete set criteria towards their studies. Nine high school students from the original intake graduated in December 2007. Many of these students have commenced employment within the District and others have gone on to further studies in the Health Industry.
Another fifteen students have completed their first year of training and the 2007 intake will see fourteen students commence in 2008.
School Based Traineeships in the areas of Nursing, Allied Health and Aged Care take two years to complete and therefore applications are invited from students about to commence year II.
